| Leicester bands: Arms of AtlasThis page is part of the bands section January 2012: Arms of Atlas is our Band of the Month
Arms of Atlas are Tyler Raine - Vocals
Profile Arms of Atlas is a five piece rock band based in Leicester. They formed in the spring of 2009. The band frequently goes out on tour and have been well received where ever they have played. The band is noted for its spectacular stage performance. Reviews 'Pure, unadulterated rock, again the Shed was a mass of heaving, sweaty bodies.' Kevin Gaughan, Artsin review of the Fringe Festival, 11th August 2011 'No other word for it - just "wonderful". They rounded off a night of musical magic with a performance that was a classic demonstration of what rock music is about ... What is so special about Arms of Atlas is that they don't just play songs, they perform them. They put on a show, and one that sparkles with passion, energy and electricity.', Trevor Locke, Artsin gig review, 18th July, 2009 'Arms of Atlas deliver everything that is needed for top notch music: songs with compulsive clappy intros, huge waves of sound pouring out into the audience, rhythms as compelling as a tribal dance, some thrash, gloriously shouty vocals, some guitar fireworks ... it's bright, brilliant and electrifying.', Trevor Locke, gig notes, 14th October 2009. ' The band started their set with a long orchestral overture, laden with great stomping beats and massive riffs, until Tyler broke in with the song. They jumped about on the stage banging their heads in time with the feverishly exciting beats. The crowd had gathered at the front. A group of lads formed a mosh pit and the night took off.', Trevor Locke, gig review, Sub91 show 2010. 'These five guys from Leicester really know how to play; they really know what makes the crowd go mental. As instrumentalists I can hardly say a bad word, every section within every song was solid. ', The Luton Scene, 10 April 2011 Arms of Atlas, The Shed, Thursday 22nd December 2011 Probably, one of the best nights at the Shed in the whole of 2011. Arms of Atlas were on the bill with Casio Kid.
