Inspired by many a conversation based around the more mischievous side of festival and comedy circuit fun, it was decided that a show about said situations should be put on at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

We all know that comedy festival shows are rapidly heading towards a more surreal, artistic, dark and whimsical style of doing things. That is all well and good and the way many people want to see comedy performed.However, there are many people - acts and audience alike - that still believe that there is much more space left in the old comedy circuit and festival dog for a show that is just damn good fun. A show where comedians and their audience can talk and hear about that most joyous of all pursuits - shagging. So it was, that Shaggers was born.

Isy Suttie Pearl and Dave

Following a total sell-out and huge critical acclaim at last year's Edinburgh Festival, double British Comedy Award nominee Isy Suttie brought her one-woman-musical-cyber-love-story Pearl and Dave to theatres across the UK from 4 February 2012 - kicking off at the Leicester Comedy Festival.

Well known as Dobby in Peep Show, Isy plays all the characters in this romantic tale dripping with hopes, heartbreak and emoticons.

We follow our two protagonists Pearl and Dave as they live out their dreams in the flighty grotto of cyber-space. Set to music, the show is interspersed with vignettes from Isy's own love life as she mirrors her two subjects in her quest for 'The One'.

Isy's musical comedy has been compared to Victoria Wood and John Hegley but she very much carves her own furrow of funny, leftfield, sometimes haunting and moving songs. Her characters are finely constructed - sometimes naturalistic, sometimes fantastical - as she weaves together stand up, music and characters.
