This web site has been designed to work with most modern web browsers and with monitors set to at least 1024 resolution. It should work in earlier browser versions, though not all aspects and features will appear exactly as we intended them to, in every browser version. Some features are dependent on the settings that are customised for particular browsers.

Get get the best results, always maximise your browser window.

maximise your browser window

We have set external links to open in a new browser window or tab. This enables the new window to be closed and the user does not loose the original page.

The site is best viewed with your monitor's screen resolution set to at least 1024 x 768, although the pages should look just as good at 800 x 600.

Care has been taken to enable this site to be read by users who are either blind or who have visual impairment.

To increase the size of the text (using Internet Explorer Browser Version 6), go to the browser's VIEW menu and select TEXT SIZE. You can then select a larger text setting to suit your needs.

In more modern browsers the page can be enlarged using either control+, or by holding down the Ctrl key and turning the wheel of the mouse (if you are using one.)

Some users will be able to change the size of the text on their screen by holding down the control key and moving their mouse wheel (depending on the type of computer you have.)

If you are concerned about the accessibility standards of this web site, please share your views or difficulties with the webmaster - use our contact form to do this.

Pages change constantly - sometimes several times a day. To ensure that you are looking at the current version of a page - do a "hard refresh" - hold down the control key and press F5 (on a PC).

A word about page styling

We have changed the top horizontal navigation bar and page styling for pages revised in 2011.

However, pages before 2010 will still in most cases have the old navigation bar and page styling. All links should be valid. There are now over 350 pages on the entire artsin site and changing them all would be a mission.

If you cannot find the page you are looking for, go to the site map

Changes to way the site is organised in 2012

Each year in December and January we try to improve the way pages are organised.

In 2011/12 we will be collecting scattered pages together and placing them in folder.

Typical examples include

/singers/

/visual arts/

/comedy/

Don't worry if you have book marked the old pages relating to these sections. All pages will remain online, even if they have been moved to a new folder.

If you land on a page that has been moved you will be directed to the new location to that page.

Once we have put all the new pages in place, we will update all the navigation links.

Pages are also being converted from the 2011 edition of that page to the 2012 edition but all links will be set in place.
