Surrender The Coast
Formed in December 2009, Surrender The Coast have, in the short time they have been active, earned themselves the reputation of being one of Leicester's most exciting bands. The six peice band
recently, booked and supported Shadows Chasing Ghosts at a private party in Leicester. Shadows Chasing Ghosts were so impressed that they have asked the band to support them when they will play the new 02 Academy Leicester when it opens in September.
The band have also secured a slot supporting Memphis May Fire, Broadway, Evita and Elijah in Reading this coming October, as well as having supported acts such as Maths, Jairus, Blakfish, The James Cleaver Quintet and Cats & Cats & Cats.
Surrender The Coast have been likened to early Alexisonfire / Emarosa / Deaf Havana, and hope to keep growing and progressing as a band. Obviously, this takes a lot of hard work, which of course they are willing to do. On June 21st they will be releasing their self funded debut EP 'Avert Your Eyes', a four track CD that is the culmination of months of writing and honing the songs so that they are exactly what the band wants them to be.
Chess Club

A four piece band playing punky indie rock with a lot of verve and some skilled work on the strings. We saw them playing at the weekend and were impressed by their tightness and the energy of their live performance.
Silent Signals
This six piece band from Leicester University played at the Shed on 10th June. The experimental, ambient rock band played a scintillating set of funky, blues and soul numbers that was as refreshing as it was vibrant. With vocals from the two front singers
Jessica Pilkington and Danielle Chung, they produced a finely rounded sound and an engaging selection of songs. The band gradually came together and now delivers a fine line-up of their own original songs and some choice covers. Good stuff and well worth seeing if you like moody, atmospheric melodies delivered by skilled musicians.
White Fix
Four piece rock band
formed in September '09, they recorded their first two songs in December '09 and started playing live in January '10
They want to write songs that people will be able to relate to, understand and enjoy. Play them with passion and create an energetic atmosphere live. One that people can't miss, are entertained by and want to get involved with :). Well, we like that! White Fix played at the GlastonBudget festival 2010.
Living Mystery
Four piece band playing its own pop punk songs. They have been going for about nine months and will soon be launching a three track EP.
Paladin
Four piece band from Leicester playing rock/alternative. Having been together for about four months (June 2010) they have some recordings up and a list of gigs.
Their music gives off the impression these guys have an infinite list of influences. Songs such as the experimental 'Show me the world' attempt something new and pull it off with style, as it proves Paladin possess maturity beyong their years. Yet 'Drowning' possesses the raw break-neck pace of an early 'Nirvana'. Check out their Myspace and listen to their songs then go see them at one of their gigs. It sounds good to us!
Celtic/traditional folk-rock band with six members, based in the East Midlands, who have been amazing audiences from big festival stages, ceilidhs, barndances and weddings, right down to smaller, more intimate pub gigs, with their unique, energetic style, humour and musicianship! The celtic and traditional folk they play is sometimes electric, sometimes acoustic, sometimes rocked up and occasionally with the odd contemporary song thrown in, but always in their own style and with a level of musicianship and flair that leaves the audiences wanting more!
Three piece indie rock band with influences including Smashing Pumpkins, Motley Crue, Muse and others. Management is Live Band Jam. See more on our Gig Notes page

They come from Market Harborough. all four musicians are 16 years old and have clock up a fiar number of gigs since they started.

They play covers from bands like Paramore or Weezer but they have been writing their own songs too.
They love all type of music like: including Muse.
Seventh Empire

A young band that has been playing at The Shed and some other local venues. The threesome formed in October 08 but now have a fourth member. They play a mixture of own songs and covers and display a fairly good level of skills and vocals. A talented young band that should do well. They will be playing at the Glastonbudget Festival in 2010.
Zinium

A new four piece band playing a punky-metally sound; they have been together for about a year and come from Oadby. They have a strong lead vocalist (Rob) and are planning to write some new material over the year ahead.
The Fuss

The band formed about two years ago but the current lineup was put together in August 2008. The band made its debut at Melton's Big Night Out 5 in October '08. The pop rock quartet just play what they think is good and judging by their music they know what is good. Over the next few months the band plans to do some decent recordings to replace the rough cuts current on their Myspace. The band also played at Big Night Out 6 and in October '08 they performed at the Valefest event.
They competed in the Live and Unsigned competition, where they performed at The Assembly in Leamington Spa and The Corn Exchange in Bedford. They got through to the semi-finals of the competition and also played at a private function at the National Space Centre in Leicester.
The Fuss are on a par with other young bands such as Astromaniacs, Third Time Lucky, The Hordes and Beauty Killed the Beast. These are bands with considerable talent, making great strides despite comparatively little experience but they clearly have a strong sense of what good music is all about and have star quality and lots of future potential.

We are Ricochet and we are pretty new to the Leicester scene and have been together for a few months now. We are all 17 and are good friends of the Pickpockets.
We have played a couple of gigs at The Shed and The Musician and have recorded one of our tracks yesterday titled 'Ready, Aim, Fire'. It is now up on our profile because we only created a myspace recently.

The bands music particularly reflects the reggae, funk and punk influences.
Formerly called Radio Collective, the band has re-named to Missing People, but still an excellent group of musical stars.
This young trio from Coalville won a Battle of the Bands competition at the Shed on 1st July 2009. Lead singer Zack Whisehall has an x-factor quality and does better with his stage presence that many front men twice his age. Young and still a bit wet behind the ears musically, this band shows a lot of promise and could be going places once they get some flying hours under their belts.
We started in the winter of 2008 from the demise of two local Leicester bands FreeFallFelix, Centauri and Milton Keynes based band Six Point Five.
Tyler, Ed, Sam, Jim and Mike set about to form a heavy rock band, with big guitar riffs, pounding drums and standout harmonising vocals whilst still 'serving the song' and that is what we think we have created!
We are constantly recording at our friends studio and rehearsing 3 to 4 times a week with the aim of having a debut c.d. out in the near future.
July is where its all kicking off for us with a week long tour with our good friends Exit Avenue and a run of our own dates to, including our first hometown headline show at the Shed on the 18th july!

Bringing together the weirdness of Radiohead, the urgency of Muse, and the rough edges of Pavement, Leicester's Dead Slow generate their own twisted-but-tuneful sound that keeps your mind guessing and your ears ringing.

We are dedicated to providing a crushing live show that will be enjoyable for everyone. We appreciate any feedback given to us and look forward to gigging near you!!
The Flamonics
- have now split up
Formed in October 2008, really quickly, the three band members met just the month before, whilst studying performing arts at college. They decided to put their instruments together and liked what came out. Within the space of three weeks they had written a full set of orignal songs and started gigging. They went out with the intention to entertain at gigs, because they knew they could, with a strong performance background. Influences are derived just from general people, funny people, actors, musical theatre actors, composers and son on. Next year, the band hopes to carry on having as much fun making the music and playing gigs and entertaining as many people as they can hopefully in increasingly bigger and better venues.
