Leicester Print Workshop courses
Leicester Print Workshop is running an exciting Light Shades
Project Weekend this April . The course will teach the basics of screenprinting
on paper and then students will create their own light shade to take home. The
Light Shade Project Weekend is being held at the Highfields based studio on 21st
and 22nd April from 10 am until 4 pm each day. The course is being
taught by leading printmaker Gemma Wright whose work uses digital photography
as its starting point and creates photomontages of cityscapes and architecture
which are then often made into 3D forms and structures.
mbrace your artistic side and create original artwork with
a course at Leicester Print Workshop. Courses at Leicester Print Workshop range
from introductory level to more advanced techniques. The workshop's regular Introduction
to Print courses are a great starting point, giving an overview of different
techniques and there are also unusual and innovative printmaking methods to discover
such as solar plate technique (images developed by sunlight and etched in water)
as well as more traditional approaches such as Japanese woodblock and stone lithography.
There are also many textile printing opportunities and there is even a lampshade
making course in April and July.
